December 4th – The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is hosting a talk by Sophie Crawford-Brown of Rice University titled “From Fauna to Flora: Merging with Plants in Early Imperial Rome”. This event is open to the public and is being held in conjunction with one of the museum’s current exhibitions Flora et Fauna: Nature in Ancient Mediterranean Art and Culture. December 5th – The deadline for the American Academy in Rome’s Summer Classical School. This is a five-week program that will focus on Rome’s development into the caput mundi and is geared towards graduate students as well as Classical educators of all levels. Funding and scholarships are available, with high school teachers receiving priority. More details and a link to the application can be found here.
